The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed recruitment of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty (1,780) potential recruits on Monday, 19 October 2020 at Nicholson sports stadium, Burma Camp.
The Director Army Administration, Col IA Salifu disclosed that the current recruitment was the backlog of the 2017 enlistment but was put on hold as the result of the COVID-19 challenges and restrictions.
He stated that the recruits would be trained in different Training Schools, namely; the Army Training School (ARTS), Jungle Warfare School (JWS), Armour Training School (ATS), Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) and the Daboya Training School (DTS).
Col Salifu further said the recruitment was categorized into five batches, and the first batch is expected to commence training on Monday, 26 October 2020 followed by the other batches.
AFnews in an interaction with some of the potential recruits expressed their joy for been shortlisted into the final recruitment list.
The Director General Personnel Administration, Air Commodore Michael Appiah- Agyekum, Commander ATRAC, Brig Gen W Dzandu- Hedidor and Director General Manpower, Col EA Baidoo was there to supervise the smooth operation of the recruitment process.
