CNS INDUCTED INTO OFFICE

Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, the Chief of the Naval Staff, together with Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson, Chief of the Air Staff and Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, the Chief of Staff, General Headquarters were inducted into office on Sunday, 17 February 2019, at the Garrison Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp.

Naval Captain (Rev) Paul Adjei-Djan, the Director of Religious Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, led the inductees to take solemn vows to carry out their duties in love, truth and in humility. Preaching on the theme “In Him (God) We Trust’, Col (Rt Rev) Otoo (Rtd), urged the CNS, CAS and COS to trust in God to see them through their term of office.

Present at the induction service were, Lt Gen OB Akwa, the Chief of the Defence Staff and the Guest of Honour, Maj Gen WA Ayamdo, the Chief of the Army Staff, Formation Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, Men and Women of the Ghana Armed Forces, families and friends of the 3 senior officers inducted.

CNS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT

Upon assumption of office officially on 8 January 2019, the Chief of the Naval Staff, R/Adm Seth Amoama has paid working visits to all commands (Western Naval Command, Eastern Naval Command and Navy Training Command) as well as detachments at New Town, Jewu Wharf and Aflao of the Ghana Navy to interact with troops and acquaint himself with their concerns. During all his durbars with personnel, the CNS stressed on 5 core principles that he expects personnel to work with. These are discipline, integrity, loyalty, professionalism and excellence.

R/Adm Amoama also visited the site of the yet to be established Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Enzinlibo and the Karpower Barge berth both in the WNC. Additionally, the CNS called on the traditional authorities of the various commands he visited.
